We are a small family business started in 1990.We manage the business and also do a lot of the hands on manual labor. Brother Mike makes the Jellies and Syrups and 2 Daughters Kasie and Kirstin, a Son Cole and friends Melanie and Kelly help out when it is crazy-busy.Our mission is to produce Edible Memories from the Northwoods made just as your Grandmother made them, without preservatives or additives.
Our first product was Wild Rice, which is the United States’ only Native Grain. Its life giving nutrition kept the Native Americans alive even when meat and other foods were scarce. It has an indefinite shelf life when kept in an airtight container, making it a perfect survival food. You can go to the "About Wild Rice" to see the different harvesting techniques and each Wild Rice Button will tell about the different characteristics of that Wild Rice.
About half of the berries in our Jellies & Syrups are hand harvested wild fruits picked by the unemployed and underemployed of Northern MN and half are from small berry growers. All are made as your Grandmother would with just berries, sugar, fruit pectin, natural citric acid and nothing else.
Over the years we have added other yummy products Maple Syrup, Maple Sugar, Wild Rice Soups, Wild Rice Panbreads, Pancake Mixes and the very addictive Whipped Honeys.
